PROGRAM DIRECTOR Jim Smith and his wife, Sarah, are parents of three and grandparents of eight. When their three children were younger, they served as missionaries in Africa for a few years. Upon their return stateside they continued to be involved in ministry and remained very close as a family. Jim also taught at two different Bible Colleges, as well as coaching pastors under the auspices of Ministry Advantage. As a pastor, Jim walked from cradle to grave with his parishioners -- officiating at weddings, helping families deal with death, aging parents, loss of young children, and counseling families blown apart by divorce. Although he received training as a pastoral counselor, it was during his 11 years of working at the PATCH Youth Ranch as a counselor that Jim obtained his Master’s degree in General Counseling. His own experience growing up with an alcoholic father has empowered Jim to be compassionate to families in pain and turmoil. Jim hopes to alleviate the suffering of others by leading families through the “Family Experience” before a major crisis occurs. |

HOSPITALITY DIRECTOR Linda Hill is able to combine some of her hobbies with her past career experiences to bring just the right mix of ability and joy to her current position as Hospitality Director for the Project PATCH Family Conference Center. She received a Nutritional Instructor Certificate from the Loma Linda University School of Health and has put that together with business courses to run a natural foods store and to care for her family. She also managed the Campus Bookstore at Union College for several years. Her history of successful sales endeavors and continuous involvement with ministries both at church and at schools show her high level of energy and her desire to live a life of service. Vibrant and caring are two words that describe Linda. She and her husband, Herb, have two adult children who are a delight to the universe and PATCH is incredibly fortunate that God brought her to us! |

ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR After staying home for many years to raise their 3 children, Sarah returned to school for a BA in Human Services from Western Washington University. Then while at the PATCH Youth Ranch, she completed her Masters in Psychology from Walden University in 2006. At the Youth Ranch, Sarah worked as an Aftercare Counselor and then as a Treatment Therapist. Now we feel very blessed to have her as part of our new Family Center staff team, working as Admissions Coordinator. When she is not working, Sarah spends as much time as possible with her 8 grandchildren. |
